Kame walked silently next to Jin who was walking back to his house. It was late into the night and his parents are probably really worried.

"What did you see?" 

Kame stiffined at the question. He had been waiting and expecting this question to come up but in truth he didn't want to answer it. He didn't want Jin to realize who Hayato was. And even if he knew he didn't want to learn that fact himself.

"I found the orb." Kame said quietly, placing his hand over the pocket that layed above his heart.

Jin stopped and turned so that he was face to face with Kame. Kame to note how his eyes had changed their color again. Even in the dark they glew like cat green eyes. 

"Where was it?" Jin asked interest in his voice.

Kame shrugged his shoulders and walked past Jin a cold look in his eyes. Jin turned on his heels to catch up with Kame.

"Hey! I asked you something." Jin said grabbing ahold of Kame's arm.

Kame sighed keeping his head toward the sky focusing on the starless sky. It was the first time that he had seen the sky in such a way.

"Do you think that people can love each other after death?" Kame asked keeping his face hidden in the sky as he questioned Jin.

Jin was surprised by the question but not totally shocked, it was one he thought about himself. Jin took a deep breath trying to collect his thoughts walking so that he was standing and looking into the sky with Kame.

"I do. I believe that people can continue loving even after their deaths. Love isn't something that is seen. It's a force, like hatred and sadness. Sometimes I think it's even stronger than that. It binds a soul and in so becoming it." Jin answered truthfully. Jin turned his head so that he was casting his gaze toward Kame who was still looking into the sky.

"Do you think that love can bind and hold two souls together no matter where they are." Kame asked sincerly.

Jin's mind was going in circles. He hoped that Kame didn't know the truth about Ryu and himself. It would be easier to do his job that way, not that his job was going so smoothly currently. He felt the love that his latter form had felt for the other so many years ago. He wanted nothing more than to just let go of his responsibilies and be with Kame forever. But fate was not that kind, Kame was born human and he a vampire. It was their clan's prophecy. It had happened generations ago and now it was going to happen again.

"Yes.......now let's get you home." Jin said grabbing Kame so that they were nearly embracing.

"Jin?What are you doing?"Kame asked nervously. It thrilled him to be this close to Jin, but at the same time very hard.

Jin smiled, "Just promise me that you won't let go and close your eyes."

"No problem." Kame thought in his mind, but just let out a nod instead. As soon as Kame closed his eyes he felt a blast of air which stopped almost immediatly as it started.

"Okay you can open your eyes now, your home." He heard Jin's voice call out.

Hesitantly he opened his eyes to see that indeed that they were standing in front of his home.

To say that he was amazed was a understatement, "How did we?"

Jin laughed cooly. "Well being a vampire has it's good sides."

Kame laughed and unwilling got out of Jin's embrace so he can walk to his home. Kame stopped before he went inside, "Do you want to come in?" He asked because he wanted to, not just to be polite.

Jin smiled but shook his head, "Naw Koki is probably worried. I just better head home."

Kame nodded disappointly but straightened up and walked over a few feet to where Jin was standing, "I guess I'll see you tomorrow at school?"

Jin nodded, "Yeah, see you." he said before turning to start to walk home.

"Wait!" Kame exclaimed.

"What?" Jin said with an annoyed tone, he only had a few hours to rest before he had to leave. He had no time to sleep today.

Kame ran as fast as his feet could carry him so that he was standing face to face with Jin keeping their faces just centimeters apart.

"Why didn't you just transport us over here earlier than having us walk for a long time." Kame asked suspicion in his tone.

Jin smirked, "Just wanted to spend time with you. Why do you have a probl........." his sentence was never finished Kame had silenced him by placing his lips on his own. The kiss only lasted a few seconds.

"What was that for?" Jin asked clearly confused.

Kame smiled and leaned in so that their lips were almost touching, "Well you didn't know what I was thinking and wanting at the moment, so..........." Kame cocked his head to the side and held a sweet smile on his face, "I....decided to get it for myself."

Jin couldn't help but smile at Kame's childish antics. 

"I better go." Kame said walking back to his home glancing once to tell Jin 'goodbye' before walking inside. Jin had stayed the entire time to watch him get inside safely.

This had to end. He didn't want this anymore. He couldn't bare to break Kame's heart. He didn't want to let the one he loves go, not again. Jin thought of the prophecy again.

'A vampire with a human heart. One who sees the world differently, will stop at nothing to try and keep the humans safe. He will be their pretector."

"Ueda!" Jin called out storming into Ueda's place. Ueda was sitting in his usual spot petting his precious Raven servant.

"What is it now Jin. I already helped you. Now all we need to do is wait for that fool to hand deliver what we want." Ueda said cooly.

Jin felt anger stream through him, "I'm not going to let him do it."

Ueda stopped mid pet to stare into Jin's eyes, both pairs becoming redder as the seconds passed, "What?"

Ueda stood up, "You dare to turn your back on the clan?!" 

Jin felt his breath get caught in his throat. He had made Ueda angry there was no going back now, "This is no way to get what we want Master, please!" Jin pleaded, "We can do this without him! We can have someother human do it!"

"No!" Ueda's voice yelled out. 

Jin felt himself stiffen as Ueda began walking toward him.

Jin got on his knees in an instant, "Please, Master! I beg you!"

"I will not hear no more of this stupidity! You will do your job! End of discussion! Stand!" Ueda ordered.

Jin obeyed standing shakily, it was a mistake to think that Ueda would see things through his point of view.

"The prophecy will be disproven Jin. Our clan will rise. Now go....tommorrow you will help him search for where the pillar is." Ueda said.

Jin stood humiliation coarsing through his body.

Prophecy or no prophecy. He wasn't going to let Kame unknowinly give his life away. He will do it, and if love is truely the way he thought it is. They will meet again.
